Linux Systems & Automation Engineer
We are looking for a hands-on technical person to join our technical operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong Linux experience, a practical problem-solving mindset, and an interest in using modern tools, including AI, to automate and improve technical workflows.
This is not primarily a software developer role. We are looking for someone who is very comfortable working with Linux servers, command-line troubleshooting, system administration, basic scripting, infrastructure tasks, and technical support. The right person should also be open to learning telecom and VoIP systems, including platforms such as FreeSWITCH.
Main Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux servers in a production environment.
- Work with Bash and basic scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
- Help implement AI-assisted automations, internal tools, scripts, and simple web-based utilities.
- Support and improve internal technical workflows.
- Assist with server maintenance, updates, backups, access management, and troubleshooting.
- Help with basic IT operations: user support, computer setup, onboarding, VPN configuration, access issues, and general technical support.
- Work with telecom-related platforms and learn VoIP concepts, routing, monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.
- Occasionally travel to colocation/datacenter facilities for hands-on server or hardware work.
- Collaborate with the technical team to improve security, reliability, documentation, and automation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of practical Linux experience.
- Very comfortable working from the Linux command line.
- Good understanding of Linux services, logs, permissions, networking basics, SSH, cron, packages, system troubleshooting, and server maintenance.
- Basic Bash scripting, or willingness to write and maintain small scripts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to investigate technical problems independently.
- Very good English communication skills.
- Practical, hands-on attitude.
- Open-minded approach to new technologies, including AI tools, automation platforms, and modern infrastructure.
- Willingness to learn telecom and VoIP systems.
Nice to Have
Not mandatory, but considered strong advantages:
- Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, NAT.
- Linux/server security: hardening, SSH security, firewalling, patching, access control, monitoring.
- Experience with FreeSWITCH, SIP, VoIP, telecom platforms, or routing systems.
- Basic PHP experience.
- SQL experience, especially PostgreSQL.
- Experience building small internal tools or simple web utilities.
- Experience with virtualization, backup systems, monitoring tools, or datacenter hardware.
- Experience supporting users with IT issues, access problems, VPN clients, and workstation setup.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a practical Linux-focused technical person with several years of real-world experience, curious about automation and AI, and comfortable working across different areas of infrastructure and operations.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, improving processes, and working with modern technology. The role is suitable for a hands-on engineer who does not want to be limited to only one narrow technical area.
What We Offer
- A varied technical role spanning Linux, automation, infrastructure, AI tools, telecom systems, and internal technical projects.
- Opportunity to work with modern technologies and new automation approaches.
- A practical environment where good ideas and initiative are valued.
- Exposure to telecom, VoIP, server infrastructure, security, networking, and AI-assisted development.
- Long-term opportunity to grow into a key technical role within the company.
